Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University’s Department of Communications and Design Arts will showcase the work of senior student Victoria Storm during the 2024 Senior Design Showcase April 5 in the Wilson Gallery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A special presentation will be held at 6 p.m. and drinks and light refreshments will be provided.

The showcase, titled “Got Fruit?”, will feature Storm’s year-long research and design project linked to solving a problem that she could identify with: how to make the fruits of the Spirit approachable to children.

“For my visual comm senior project, I wanted to find a topic that played into multiple layers of my interests,” said Storm. “I enjoy working with kids, have interest in psychology, and want to proactively pursue my faith. Using my design skills, I strove to implement biblical character development into early childhood education.”

Utilizing the skills Storm has gained throughout her time at Anderson, she chose to work with the fruit of the Spirit, as referenced in Galatians 5:22-23.

“Early childhood development is an essential part of a person’s character and lifestyle long-term, and the fruit of the Spirit are key character traits that can seem advanced or ‘unapproachable’ to kids,” said Storm. “I chose to bridge this gap through creating a series of children’s books.”

The gallery showcase features the design process and research behind the development of Storm’s nine-book series.
