Through dynamic chapel speakers, spiritual formation groups, weekly dorm floor focus groups, service through campus ministries, or mentorship with faculty and staff members, AU is a place where you are embraced for who you are and inspired to reach further to whom you’ll become.
AU is a place to grow, build deep relationships, and learn alongside people with different stories and experiences. Founded by the passionate devotion of the Church of God, spiritual transformation is at the heart of an Anderson University education. Jesus means everything to us, and no matter what he means to you, you’re invited to the table.
Growing together

Community at Anderson is intentional. Faith isn’t confined to a single place or moment, it’s lived out in conversations, friendships, classrooms, residence halls, and shared experiences across campus.
Chapel
The Chapel program provides a warm environment to integrate faith and learning no matter where you are in your spiritual journey. These gatherings are designed to encourage greater intimacy with God, one another, and our greater community.
Spiritual Formation Groups
These gatherings meet every Thursday at 11 a.m. at various locations on campus. They are designed to offer more intimate, focused spiritual formation opportunities for students, faculty and staff. While not required, our campus community may choose to attend these groups based on interest. Participation is strongly encouraged as a meaningful part of the overall spiritual life experience at Anderson University.

Learning From One Another: Cultural clubs
The Center for Spiritual and Intercultural Life is a place where students from many backgrounds come together to build community, share stories, and grow alongside one another. Through conversations, events, and student-led groups, students learn to listen well, lead with empathy, and live out their faith in meaningful ways.
Cultural student groups are open to all AU students and include the Anderson University Gospel Choir, Asian Student Association (ASA), Black Student Association (BSA), Hispanic Latino Student Association (HLSA), and International Student Association (ISA).
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration Day
Each year, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, AU suspends classes so that all students, faculty, staff, and the greater Anderson community are able to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We use this time to renew our commitment to the ongoing work of social justice and racial equity. Our annual celebration kicks off with The Gathering and is followed by citywide and campuswide events.
