Graduate Student Admission Process

1) Speak with a Graduate Admissions Counselor

2) Complete the Application for Admission

Complete the free online application at, then send your official transcripts and other necessary documents.

Graduate Business Programs

  • The criteria for admission is a 3.0 GPA (Director discretion for students under a 3.0).
  • Send official transcripts to
  • Provide either a current resume or a link to your LinkedIn profile.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation.
  • 2 years of work experience is required for application to the online and evening MBA programs. The daytime program option doesn’t have work experience requirements.

Graduate Theology Programs

Graduate Music Education Programs

  • Send official transcripts to
  • Submit 2 letters of recommendation.
  • Provide a writing sample.
  • Present a valid teacher’s license.
  • Interview with the Music Education faculty.

3) Receive Admission Decision

Your admissions decision will be sent to your email address, but we’ll call you to congratulate you and explain the next steps.

4) Post Admit Next Steps

  • Finalize acceptance by paying your enrollment deposit.
  • Set up your AU email account — once you pay your enrollment deposit, you will receive a link to begin this step.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA and contact financial aid by calling (888) 622-GRAD or emailing
  • Pay your bill. The student account office sends electronic bills on the 25th of each month. Questions? Contact Student Accounts at or call 765-641-4001.
