Center for intercultural engagement

No matter who you are and where you come from, Anderson welcomes you and your unique story to be part of our welcoming campus community.

The Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE) strives to educate all students, both domestic and international, toward intercultural curiosity, humility, and learning through:

  • Equipping students to identify and navigate the various stages of culture shock and healthy integration.
  • Encouraging students to embrace, celebrate, and develop their unique cultural identity.
  • Offering students opportunities for intercultural inclusion, sharing, learning, and leadership development.
  • Encouraging students to see cultural identity, intercultural inclusion, sharing, learning, and leadership as hallmarks of Christian Faith.

We support our international students and multicultural students by serving as an intercultural liaison between students, faculty, and staff.

The Center for Intercultural Engagement creates space for students to find themselves, be comfortable, and share their experiences. It is home to cultural clubs, which build community among members and across campus. Each year, the CIE celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a full day of activities, as well as Heritage Week, a campus-wide celebration of culture and heritage. We would love for you to be involved!
