Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University will hold its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend celebration October 6-7. The event will feature a celebration of former President James L. Edwards, a special show from comedian and illusionist Jon Mobley ‘07, and long standing traditions such as the Street Fair and Luminaries. CORE Education will serve as the presenting sponsor.

“There’s no better weekend at Anderson University, and in my opinion in the city of Anderson in general, than Homecoming and Family Weekend at AU,” said Trent Palmer, director of alumni relations. “We’ll welcome thousands back to campus for an early fall extravaganza that will dazzle the senses of all who attend.”

AU will celebrate Edwards with the Distinguished Alumni Award and by naming the School of Theology building in his honor. The building naming will be unveiled with a special ceremony at 10 a.m. Oct. 7. Later in the day, he will be presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award in York Performance Hall at 5 p.m.

Mobley is a 2007 alum who has appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us. He will host a special show at 9 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium Oct. 6.

Events that alumni know and love, such as the Street Fair, Luminaries, Cheap Thrills, and Encore are back, along with the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will host its Homecoming concert Friday night.

AU Athletics will be in full force as well, with football, men’s soccer, volleyball, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis hosting home contests throughout the weekend.
