AU To Unveil New Electrical Engineering Lab April 26

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University will unveil its brand-new, state-of-the-art Electrical Engineering Lab with a ribbon cutting ceremony April 26 at 1:30 p.m. The lab was completed as part of the Called To Soar focused fundraising initiative.
“The new Electrical Engineering Lab facility, made possible in large part from a grant from Trustee and alum Dr. Lloyd Schnuck, allows our students to have hands-on experience in this field, making them more attractive to employers upon graduation,” said Jen Hunt, vice president for advancement. “In addition, this space can be used to host STEM field trips for high school students, which can help students discover what career path interests them.”
The lab contains nine benches for 18 students, each complete with a triple output power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope, and waveform generator. The lab also had new glass whiteboards installed and a brand new projection system.
“This new lab space will give students greater access to lab equipment and hands-on experiences, as well asallows us to keep lab sections small so students can get personal interaction with their professors,” said Dr. Ben McPheron, chair of physical sciences and engineering. “The renovated space is also far better suited for teaching and giving demonstrations. We are incredibly grateful to the generous donors who supported this lab becoming a reality.”
Following the ceremony, McPheron and students will provide a demonstration of the lab’s capabilities.
