AU Students Participate in Model Arab League

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University students recently participated in the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations Model Arab League in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 15 students made the trip and served as delegates from Bahrain, Libya, and Yemen. A total of six schools formed 13 delegations.

AU brought home two awards from the conference, one for an individual council and one overall conference award. Dylan Hofer and Christian Hubble earned an award for their representation of Libya in the Social Affairs Council. Both students were new to model diplomacy this year and only two delegations per council earned the award.

AU’s overall delegation of Libya earned a conference award for their representation of Libya across all councils. As chosen by their peers, the award signifies the group was among the top overall delegations at the conference. Libyan delegates included Hofer, Hubble, Izach Butler, Christian Edwards, Kellan Duffy, and Adrianna Eicher.  

“Our students represented themselves well,” said Dr. Connor Sutton, assistant professor of international relations and national security. “I am extremely proud of these students and they deserve some kudos.”

Anderson University students will return to the American Model United Nations next fall as they represent Germany. Below is the complete list of students who participated in the Model Arab League.
