Anderson, Ind. — Dr. Amelia Hart ’15, an alumna of the Anderson University Doctor of Business Administration program, was recently named one of the top 50 undergraduate business professors in the nation by Poets&Quants.
Hart is an associate professor of practice at the University of Tennessee, where she’s served since 2018. Poets&Quants accepted nominations for its seventh annual top 50 undergraduate business professors. More than 1,000 nominations were received.
“We are immensely proud of Dr. Amelia Hart,” said Dr. Lonnie Leeper, dean of the Falls School of Business. “Dr. Hart’s dedication to student success, her dynamic leadership, and her commitment to excellence exemplify the caliber of educators our DBA program strives to develop. Her ability to inspire and empower students, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their careers, demonstrates the profound impact our graduates have in shaping the next generation of leaders. Her achievements reflect the program’s emphasis on competence, confidence, and character, preparing graduates to make significant contributions both in and beyond the classroom.”
Hart’s doctoral research area focused on the going concern assumption: The investor’s propensity towards a Type II error in the going concern assessment: An economic evaluation of the relationship between management’s good news and unbiased evidence of financial stress in public companies.
At Tennessee, Hart serves as the co-coordinator of the UT AIM Academy, a summer program that hosts rising high school juniors from underrepresented groups for an integrated collegiate experience that introduces the field of accounting and information management. She is a member of the Teaching and Learning Innovation Task Force Advisory team, serving as a thought leader and ambassador, demonstrating, creating, and connecting efforts across disciplines and educational contexts as the university’s home for faculty development and for integrating curricular best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.
