Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University is launching an online cybersecurity degree program that will begin in fall 2024. The program will be housed in the security studies program, an interdisciplinary unit featuring faculty from computer science and political science.

“As the demand for cybersecurity professionals in Indiana continues to grow, AU’s new online cybersecurity major widens the reach of our program,” said Provost Dr. Courtney Taylor. “Thanks to the good work of our faculty, the cybersecurity program has been recognized by the NSA as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense. Anderson University believes in preparing students to excel in any field of study and to do so with integrity and moral clarity. The technical skills learned in this cybersecurity major are built upon a strong and solid Christian ethical foundation.”

Students will receive a solid foundation of cybersecurity knowledge and benefit from the flexibility of an online program. In addition, they will learn the skills needed to analyze, interpret, defend, and protect from cybersecurity threats. Students also are exposed to the role of policy development and regulatory frameworks, which play a key role in informing and shaping cybersecurity strategy.

Addressing a major need in industry, students grow their skills in specific non-technical competencies to help them effectively convey complex technical information and strategic recommendations in briefings and presentations. In turn, students will be well prepared to apply their knowledge in a variety of professions of a growing industry that has become increasingly relevant.

Cybersecurity is an area of high demand globally and is projected to grow 32 percent by 2032. To learn more, visit Anderson University online.
