Early STEM Program
Early STEM Program for Current High School Students
The Anderson University Early STEM Program allows qualifying high school juniors and seniors – both from traditional schools and homeschool alternatives – to earn college credit prior to high school graduation by enrolling in first year engineering, chemistry, physics, or mathematics courses on AU’s campus.*
To qualify, students must meet the following requirements:
- Qualify as a high school senior.
- Earn and maintain a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.
- Score a minimum of 550 on the math SAT (or ACT equivalent).
- Agree to abide by the Lifestyle Statement at Anderson University
School of Science & Engineering faculty will review the application and notify the student of their decision. To participate in the Early STEM program, students must be accepted through the application process.
Application & Tuition
Tuition & Fees:
- Students may take one Early STEM package or take individual classes at the reduced rate of $70 per credit hour. This does not include textbooks or additional class fees.
- Payment in full must be made at registration.
- Placement exams may be required for courses.
*The Early STEM Program is not available for online courses.
Early Stem Program Packages
This year, we are offering packages in engineering, chemistry, physics, or mathematics to high school seniors.
For example, if a student is interested in engineering, they can take the first six (6) science and engineering courses in the Anderson University engineering curriculum. These 22 credits – General Chemistry I, General Physics I (calculus-based), Calculus I, Calculus II, Introduction to Engineering, and Introduction to Programming for Engineers.
