A pathway to ministry

Anderson University is proud to partner with Trellis as they help empower, educate, and equip the next generation of church leaders.

Trellis Churches

Through a multi-faceted, comprehensive approach, Trellis works to equip the next generation of church leaders to start new life cycles in churches around the world.

Through its three pillars of empowering, education, and equipping, Trellis seeks to intersect those God has called into ministry with the necessary training and resources they need.

Anderson University is a proud Trellis partner and sees it as an extension of our mission to graduate people with a global perspective who are competent, caring, creative, generous individuals of character and potential.

Be Where You Are

Thanks to AU’s partnership with Trellis, students can obtain their undergraduate degree in Ministry Studies, while completing a three-year internship with a church staff. Classes are fully online and can be completed anywhere.

Just because classes are online does not mean students will miss out on college resources. A full-time faculty advisor will be assigned to each student, along with complete access to campus libraries, writing tutors, and more.

Financial Assistance Is Here

We get it: college isn’t cheap. There are all sorts of expenses, but Trellis is here to help. Housing options are provided and books are covered. In addition, tuition is covered by Trellis contingent on students completing their three-year internship and placement into a vocational ministry position.

Classes For Essential Learning

At AU, students take classes that prepare them for their career. You will earn the same Bachelor of Arts degree as on campus students earn, while taking a full liberal arts core for a well-rounded education. We use the Canvas platform for courses–an industry standard in student and professor user-experience. The Ministry Studies major includes introductory courses in Bible, Spiritual Formation, and Christian Ministry as well as five ministry content areas, theology classes, and experiential learning.

A Community For You

Although students will be completing online coursework, Anderson University offers a community to help them thrive. Students will have online access to chapel, community prayer groups, and a library that is resourced for fully online ministry preparation programs.

An Internship For The Real-World

While you’re completing your coursework at Anderson University, you will also be working three years in a church. In year one, students will rotate through the various ministries of the local church (kids, youth, music, admin, etc.) giving them robust local church experience. In years two and three, students will have the opportunity to specialize in one of these areas for growth.
