What is an enrollment deposit?

Anderson University requires a $200 enrollment deposit from students planning to attend AU. Nearly every U.S. university and college requires an enrollment deposit and some are refundable. We encourage you to make sure you understand the policy for your top schools before submitting your deposits. We recommend that students submit their deposit to either their top school or their top two schools to reserve their spot in classes.

The deposit is not binding. We encourage you to submit it when you’re ready to secure your spot at AU. If you have any questions please contact the Office of Admissions at info@anderson.edu.

Facts you need to know:

  • The full, one-time, $200 enrollment deposit is applied directly to your university student account toward the cost of tuition. It is your money, and it is applied directly to your cost of attendance.
  • National Decision Day for colleges and universities is May 1 each year. The Anderson University enrollment deposit is fully refundable until May 1. If your plans change, all you have to do is request a refund by April 30.
  • For student-athletes, a deposit secures your commitment to our athletic teams and allows our coaches the opportunity to announce your commitment across social media. Please talk with your specific Anderson University coach to confirm the best time to deposit.
  • Submitting your deposit officially reserves your seat in classes. Universities need this for planning purposes of offering classes to new students. Anderson University wants to offer you the best classroom opportunities, and some years we have more students interested in certain academic subjects than expected. We might need to open more classes to meet your needs, and we need to know that as soon as possible. Knowing your intention, helps us get everything ready for our incoming class and their unique interests. This helps us plan for you.
  • Your deposit allows you to advance in the enrollment process and opens up your ability to apply for housing. Every student is required to complete a housing form to communicate to the university whether they are intending to live on campus or declare a commuter status. If you plan to live on-campus, the date you submit your deposit secures your place in line for residence hall selection and gets you priority housing consideration.
  • Lastly, it opens up your ability to register for SOAR (student orientation and registration). This is when you build a class schedule for your first semester of college with an academic advisor. This is a time that helps you get a solid picture of what college life would be like for you at AU.
