Anderson, Ind. — The Boze Lyric Theatre at Anderson University is proud to present its first show of the 2024-25 season, Murder on the Orient Express. The show opens Oct. 12 and runs through Oct. 20.

In total, there will be six showings: Oct. 12 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m., Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

“Murder on the Orient Express gives our students the chance to experience a different type of theatrical genre, expanding their education and theater knowledge,” said Jason James, director of musical theatre and theatre. “I’m truly proud of the work we are doing. A huge congrats to our technical director, Anthony Bacon, who, along with our students, are taking on the behemoth task of constructing train cars to emulate the Orient Express. And I couldn’t be more excited to have Indiana Repertory Theatre veteran, Rob Johansen, at the helm directing this production. The students and creative team are working so hard to give our audiences and university a season opener you won’t forget!”

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer, in case he or she decides to strike again.

All shows will be held in Byrum Hall. Tickets for all shows are available online. For more information, call the box office at 765-641-4140.
