Illuminate: Christmas In The Valley Returns to AU

 2 MIN. READ

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University is ready to light up its beloved Valley with Christmas cheer this winter. Illuminate: Christmas in the Valley, a free Christmas lights spectacular hosted by the university, will run through the holiday season for guests.

“We are so excited to bring back Illuminate: Christmas in the Valley to Anderson University,” said Melissa Bond, director of student engagement. “The holiday season is about community, joy, and celebrating our savior. We’re hopeful this free Christmas lights event captures all that’s great about Christmas, and we can’t wait for the Anderson community to celebrate with us.”

The event will light up AU’s campus with Christmas lights on buildings and monuments beginning Nov. 28 and will run through the holiday season. Illuminate will be free of charge, but guests will be able to make donations if they feel led to.

AU welcomes the Anderson and surrounding communities to campus for its annual community night on Dec. 9 from 4 to 9 p.m. Along with the lights, guests can expect hot chocolate, treats, a holiday market, a visit from Santa Claus, and more.

Illuminate will also serve as a complement to long-standing AU traditions and events such as Candles and Carols, athletic contests, and alumni visits.

Window Genie will once again help make the event a reality by installing the lights around campus.
