Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University recently hosted its annual technology full-tuition scholarship competition. Ty Thomasson was selected as the winner, earning a full-tuition scholarship to Anderson University. He currently attends Fishers High School in Fishers, Indiana.
“We are thrilled to offer a full-tuition scholarship to Tyler, an exceptional student from Fishers High School, in the field of cybersecurity,” said Lara Mann, vice president for enrollment. “The cybersecurity program at Anderson University equips students to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time, and we are honored to support these young leaders as they prepare to make a meaningful impact in their fields and beyond.”
Thomasson plans to major in cybersecurity and largely chose AU because of President John Pistole and his expertise in the discipline.
“I have always had a strong interest in computers and technology,” Thomasson said. “I like the challenges that come along with cybersecurity and the fact that the industry is always changing and there are new things to learn and grow in.”
“We are thrilled for Ty Thomasson for his scholarship award, but we are also elated for Anderson University, as they will be receiving a top-tier student who represents the best of Fishers High School,” said Kyle Goodwin, principal of Fishers High School. “Ty is a diligent, self-motivated student, and his future is bright, both at AU and beyond.”
