Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University recently completed a special essay collection and documentary series that aims to reframe the history of the institution.
This project was funded by a grant through the Council of Independent Colleges. Dr. Nathan Willowby, dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministry, submitted the proposal and organized the project.
The essay collection presents a “reframing” of the history of Anderson University and the lives that this institution has touched. Offered as a resource specifically for first-year students, the text seeks to broaden the narrative of AU’s history through differing perspectives and focal points that both contextualize and enrich the university’s legacy. It’s an important resource not only for students, but also for current faculty and staff, prospective students, alumni, Church of God partners, and donors.
The documentary series explores the origins, people, places, and traditions of the university.
“We are really excited about the essay collection and video episode series that open up avenues for our students, alumni, and others to better understand what makes AU the special place and community it is,” said Willowby. “These pieces serve to highlight what’s distinct about AU as we live into the future.”
Both the essay collection and documentary series can be accessed online.
