Become one of the 250,000+ pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago as you start your backpacking adventure in Santiago, Spain. This pilgrimage route is one of the most popular networks in the world and dates back to the Middle Ages. As you sojourn on the Way of St. James, connect and discover a deeper meaning in life and spiritually connect with nature and yourself.
NOTE: You will be walking and carrying your backpack, camping equipment, and food. You must be physically able to walk long distances while carrying weight on your back.

- May 6: Team departs U.S.
- May 7: Arrive in Spain, explore Santiago
- May 8: Hike Camino de Santiago
- May 9: Hike Camino de Santiago
- May 10: Hike Camino de Santiago
- May 11: Hike Camino de Santiago
- May 12: Hike Camino de Santiago
- May 13: End hike on Camino de Santiago, transfer to Santander
- May 14: Peninsula of Magdalena
- May 15: Beach day in Santander
- MaTeam returns to the U.S.
Cost: $3,020 plus airfare (estimated at $1,400) =~$4,420
Cost includes round-trip airfare from Chicago or Indianapolis, all or most meals, lodging, transportation in-country, orientation, group activities, travel insurance, and program tips. The exact airfare amount will be available upon booking with the airline.
Potential expenses not included in the cost may be a passport, visa, immunizations and vaccinations, departure tax, baggage fees, transportation to and from the departure city, trip cancellation insurance, some meals, backpack and backpacking supplies, and personal expenses.

Cancellation Policy
● 61 days or more prior to start date of trip – Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through airline)
● 30-60 days prior to start date of trip – Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as loss of any non-refundable excursions, any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through airline), and 25% of per person total cost.
● 15-30 days prior to start date of trip – Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as loss of any non-refundable excursions, any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through airline), and 50% of per person total cost.
● 0-15 days prior to start date of trip – No refund will be given.
