Joseph W. McAllister, 85, of King City, CA, passed away at Mee Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Joe was born in Woodward, OK, but grew up in Anderson, IN, and spent many of his adult years there. He attended Anderson High School, graduating from Great Commission School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Anderson University in Anderson, and a masters degree in Public Service from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
He was a member of Silver Kings and Queens and a lifetime member of Mee Memorial Hospital Foundation. He was affiliated with the Church of God in Anderson; and locally attended Grace Lutheran Church. Joe taught school for approximately 20 years; was a District Boy Scout Executive; and drove an 18-wheeler in addition to other occupations.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorcas DeYoung McAllister; children, Toby McAllister (Loren), Linda Robinson (Jeffrey); sister, Carole Stoops (Bob); step-sister, Carolann Scott; grandchildren, Bronwyn McAllister, Ian McAllister, Elizabeth McAllister, Meghan McAllister, Celica McAllister, Shannon McAllister, Caroline Robinson, Anna Robinson; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
