William Bashford

William “Bill” Woodford Bashford, 87, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away September 19, 2021, at St. Joseph hospital. He was born on Dec. 25, 1933, to the late Otha and Alma Wilson Bashford.

Bill was a Montgomery County native, member of Mt. Sterling First Church of God and Liberty Bible Church of God of Winchester. Bill was a graduate of Mt. Sterling High School and attended Georgetown College and Anderson University (Anderson, Ind.).

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Columbia Gas Company. He was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan and Kentucky Colonel.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Imogene Holley Bashford; step-daughter, Bemedji Asher (Ben); step-grandsons, Chase Asher, Jake Cruse, and Jesse Cruse; nephews, Ralph, Kenneth, Gary, Andrew, Tom, Greg, Charles Bashford, and Glenn Foley; nieces, Karen Goodrich and Alice Wittenback; numerous cousins, friends, and church family. Bill was preceded in death by his step-son, Floyd “Buddy” Cruse II; brothers, Paul, Ralph, and Charles Bashford; sister, Virginia Doyle; and niece, Kathy Foley Jones.
