Melissa Jo Humerickhouse BA ’01, MA ’03 of Pendleton, Indiana, went home to be with her Savior on August 24, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 42 years old.
Melissa was born on January 3, 1979, in Indianapolis. She graduated from Highland High School, and obtained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Anderson University (Ind.). While at Anderson University, she played softball.
She attended Life Journey Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was an auditor for DODIG. She loved to hike with her children, fish with her dad, and was an avid Cubs fan.
Melissa is survived by her loving wife of 22 years, Sarah (Stewart) Humerickhouse; parents, Randy and Barbie (Knauss) Humerickhouse; children, Miles Humerickhouse and Stella Humerickhouse; father and mother-in-law, Tim and Joyce Stewart; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Jennifer) Stewart, Joshuah (Michelle) Stewart, Jeremiah (Shannon) Stewart; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; and many, many special friends.
Melissa was preceded in death by her Nana, JoAnn Knauss; Gigi, Joann Stewart; and Grandpa, Bud Humerickhouse.
The family wishes to thank friend and nurse, Michelle McCarthy, and Kat with Paradigm Hospice, for their tireless care.
