Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University has named Suahil Housholder to the position of vice president for finance and chief financial officer effective January 1, 2023.

“I am humbled by this appointment,” said Housholder. “I have big shoes to fill as I think about my colleagues who occupied this role and have served as mentors to me over the years. I couldn’t do this without the support of my family and my belief that God has been preparing me for a time such as this. It is truly an honor and privilege to continue serving the university as the next VP for Finance and CFO.”

Housholder, who most recently served as the assistant vice president for finance and assistant treasurer, holds two degrees from Anderson University (Bachelor of Arts in accounting and Master of Business Administration), and is pursuing a Doctor of Education at Ball State University.

Housholder arrived at AU as a 16-year-old international student from the Cayman Islands. She began her AU employment as a student worker, and after seven years in the private sector post-graduation, returned to Anderson University as a budget accountant. Prior to being hired as controller and assistant treasurer, Housholder served as chief accountant in the business office and business manager in business and auxiliary services under the supervision of the vice president for finance.

“Suahil has an outstanding financial background, coupled with extensive experience here at AU, including her service as our controller and her undergraduate and MBA degrees from Anderson,” said President John S. Pistole. “She is replacing Dan Courtney, who has served as CFO with distinction.”

Anderson University is on a mission to educate students for lives of faith and service, offering more than 60 undergraduate majors, 30 three-year degrees, 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports, alongside adult and graduate programs.
