Anderson University To Host Annual MLK Day Celebration

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University is set to host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration Jan. 16 and 17 on campus. 

Each year, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, AU suspends classes so that all students, faculty, staff, and the greater Anderson community are able to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. AU uses this time to renew its commitment to the ongoing work of social justice and racial equity. 

The annual celebration kicks off with a Peace & Justice March from Reardon Auditorium to the Paramount Theatre in downtown Anderson. Below is a full event schedule with more events to come throughout the month of January.

Monday, January 16, 2023

10-11 a.m.: The Gathering (Reardon Lobby)

11:15-11:45 a.m.: Peace & Justice March (Reardon Auditorium to Paramount Theatre in downtown Anderson)

12-1:30 p.m.: Anderson Citywide MLK Day Celebration (Paramount Theatre)

1:40-1:50 p.m.: Shuttle back to AU (Paramount Theatre to Reardon Auditorium)

1:55-2:30 p.m.: Lunch/MLK Day Reflections & Action Steps (Reardon Lobby)
