ACT/SAT test optional for admission

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University has officially announced that the SAT and ACT are optional when applying. It is no longer a requirement for admission. This is effective immediately. 

The decision was originally planned for the 2020-2021 academic year, but the university felt it was best to implement the change now, during this crucial moment in our nation’s history. The university is well aware that this is a popular season for juniors and seniors to be taking the SAT and ACT and some may have not completed their testing due to quarantine restrictions. Students no longer need to submit their test results when applying to AU. 

“We would rather prospective students focus on their studies rather than their inability to take the SAT or ACT due to test centers closing,” said Heather Kim, vice president for marketing and enrollment. “Given the nature of what is happening with the Coronavirus, we will continue to make quality, holistic admission decisions for those students who are either unable to test or who choose not to submit test scores.”
