Anderson University
Swimming Pool Bennett Natatorium
Built in 1972, Bennett Natatorium is a six-lane, 25-yard pool. The pool is used for many physical education classes and is home to the Anderson University men’s and women’s swimming teams.
Classes include the aquatic section of the Liberal Arts Fit for Life class, beginning swimming, and intermediate swimming, American Red Cross Lifeguarding, American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Pool/Spa Administrator, and Scuba. There are also multiple lap and open swim times throughout the week, as well as water aerobics. Intramurals hosts events in the pool during the year as well.
In addition to the Ravens men and women swim teams, the natatorium is also the home of the Madison County Special Olympics swim team and the Liberty High School Boys and Girls Swim team. There is a swim lesson program that is open to the public and the facility is available to be rented by groups and individuals for parties.
The swimming pool is staffed year-round by student lifeguards who are American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid and AED. The students have weekly meetings for In-Service training. These are the students who also teach in the swim lesson program.
