Selection Process
- Admitted as a student at AU – Apply Now
- Complete the LIFT Leaders Fellowship Application by February 1, 2025
- In-person Interview
- Notified of selection by March 1, 2025
Requirements
The LIFT Leaders Fellowship Requirements:
- Must have an incoming GPA of 3.0 and maintain this GPA throughout college.
- Must live on campus for the first two years to strengthen the fostering of an intentional community and to more fully understand the student experience.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress standards and must be in good disciplinary standing with the university.

Four Years of LIFT
At AU we strive to cultivate excellent student leadership that positively impacts the University’s community while preparing students for a life of positive contributions to their communities beyond their time at AU.
First Year (Freshman)
First year LIFT Leader Fellows will be required to participate in a LIFT Leaders Fellowship Symposium prior to the start of the academic year and an early arrival on campus. First year LIFT Leader Fellows will be required to meet monthly with their assigned peer mentor (Junior LIFT Leader Fellow) and attend quarterly leadership seminars. First year LIFT Leader Fellows will not be required to hold a student employment position but will be encouraged to volunteer and participate with multiple student organizations.
Second Year (Sophomore)
Second year LIFT Leader Fellows will be required to attend a student leadership retreat at the start of the academic year, participate in monthly peer mentor meetings, and attend quarterly leadership seminars. Second year LIFT Leader Fellows will be required to hold a student leadership position as a way of engaging in valuable leadership experiences.
Third Year (Junior)
Third year LIFT Leader Fellows will be required to attend the First Year LIFT Leaders Fellowship Symposium and student leadership retreat at the start of the academic year. Third year LIFT Leader Fellows will be paired with a First Year LIFT Leader Fellow and will serve as their peer mentor, meeting with each mentee monthly. Third Year LIFT Leader Fellows will be paired with an alumni mentor and they will be expected to meet with that mentor monthly while also attending a quarterly leadership seminar. They may change their student leadership role but must remain in a student leadership position that allows the opportunity to continue to gain valuable experience. Students will work with the members of their third year cohort to develop a Community Impact project designed to bring lasting impact to Anderson University and the surrounding community.
Fourth Year (Senior)
Fourth year LIFT Leader Fellows will attend the student leadership retreat at the start of the academic year, will continue to meet with their mentees (who are now Sophomores), will continue to meet with their alumni mentors, and attend a quarterly leadership seminar. Fourth year LIFT Leader Fellows will execute their Community Impact Project. Fourth year LIFT Leader Fellows will be encouraged, but not required, to hold a student leadership position.
Learning Outcomes
LIFT learning outcomes that support the learning objectives of the Center for Student Life will be developed and assessed through the intended learning outcomes and assessment cycles of the Center for Student Life. The Center for Student Life learning outcomes are:
- Upon graduation, all traditional undergraduate students will be prepared for a life of servant leadership.
- Upon graduation, all traditional undergraduate students will be committed to the continuous pursuit of intercultural humility.
- Upon graduation, all traditional undergraduate students will generously use their strengths, knowledge, and passions for kingdom work in response to a life transformed by Christ.
- Upon graduation, all traditional undergraduate students will be equipped to cultivate communities that are rooted in authenticity, integrity, and responsibility.
- Upon graduation, all traditional undergraduate students will be prepared for a life of physical and mental wholeness.
