Rebecca Edie
Staff Accompanist; Accompanying Coordinator; Piano Area Coordinator
Rebecca Edie serves as Accompanying Coordinator, Staff Accompanist, and Professor of Piano in the Anderson University School of Music, Theatre and Dance. She received a BM in Piano Performance from Butler University and MM from the St. Louis Conservatory of Music.
She actively maintains a busy recital and concert schedule, performing in vocal, instrumental, solo, and ensemble performances throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. Having performed in Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, she also performed in Chamber Music Recitals at the Orvieto Festival of Strings in Orvieto, Italy, and as soloist and orchestral pianist for numerous symphony orchestras nationwide, including Santa Fe Symphony, OK Mozart Festival, Tulsa Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Boca Pops, The Philly Pops, and Grand Teton Music Festival. She serves as pianist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in their Pops, Yuletide, Conner Prairie Summer Concert Series, and Film Series under the direction of Maestro Jack Everly, as well as the Classical and Discovery Series.
Locally, Rebecca has also performed with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Philharmonic, and the Indianapolis Opera Company.
Rebecca has an extensive opera background having accompanied main stage opera productions and assisted in musical preparation for several opera companies in the United States, as Repetiteur and Coach/Accompanist. She served as Music Director for the Young Artist Programs with those companies, promoting opera education in the public and private school sectors.
Most recently, Rebecca was invited to serve as a member of the Institute of Bel Canto Coaching Staff, in San Miguel, Mexico. She is equally at home in all genres, whether Classical, Pop, Contemporary, or Broadway / Music Theater styles, accompanying Artists of the Metropolitan Opera Company in recital or concerts with Broadway Artists.
Ms. Edie was invited to represent the United States at the European Piano Teachers Association in London, England, performing master classes, seminars, and demonstration lessons.
