Costa Rica Trip

Travel with Tri-S: Study, Serve, Share

Description:

During Spring Break 2026, a team of AU engineering students will travel to Costa Rica as part of the course ENGR 3080: Engineering Design for Service with Professor Brian McKenna. The team will partner with Global Strategy, a ministry of the Church of God, to support local communities and churches through service-focused engineering projects related to infrastructure and sustainability.

In addition to project work, the team will have opportunities to explore the beauty and culture of Costa Rica, from its vibrant communities to its world-renowned natural environment. Together, these experiences will make for a transformative week of learning, service, and discovery.

This trip is designed to be more than a project—it’s a chance to learn from others, grow in faith, and experience the joy of serving in a cross-cultural setting. Students will apply their engineering knowledge in real-world contexts while also developing a deeper understanding of what it means to serve alongside communities in ways that are meaningful and lasting.
