Cultural Clubs
The Center for Intercultural Engagement is home to several cultural clubs, which build community among members and across campus. Each year, the clubs host individual events, and they also come together to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Anderson University Gospel Choir
The Anderson University Gospel Choir has been a staple of this community for many years and serves as a regular in AU chapel services. Our mission is to knock down barriers by joining all cultures together in song. The Gospel Choir has routinely been featured during Anderson University and the City of Anderson’s Martin Luther King Day celebration. The Anderson University Gospel Choir strives to worship the Lord and serve the community through music and ministry. For more information on how to join or to invite the Anderson University Gospel Choir to your event, please contact us at gospelchoir@anderson.edu.
Asian Student Association
The Asian Student Association (ASA) is a close-knit, fun group of students who enjoys experiencing and exploring the diversity in Asian cultures while providing a safe, inclusive atmosphere where everyone is appreciated and valued. ASA meets regularly to fulfill its goal of building a strong “sense of belonging” among the Asian and non-Asian students in the club through playing games, eating together, and watching Asian culture movies. ASA also takes pride in sharing some of its cultural customs with the entire student body through its most popular campus event, the Lunar New Year celebration.
Black Student Association
The Black Student Association (BSA) desires to facilitate cultural awareness across the campus and community by hosting cultural events and educational opportunities that are open to all students. We exist to empower, encourage, and educate through various mediums including books, films, special guests, and cultural excursions designed to inform attendees about African American history while working to positively impact the progression of our culture’s place in the world. We provide a safe space for all people through mutual unity and respect for ourselves and everyone around us. Membership is open to ALL students at Anderson University. For more information, please contact us at BSA@anderson.edu.
Hispanic Latino Student Association
The Hispanic Latino Student Association (HLSA) is an organization that bridges cultural divides by exposing the Anderson campus community to the beautiful expressions and celebrations that exist within the Hispanic and Latin American culture. Our mission is to educate our community about the historical influence of Latin culture on the arts through various mediums like dance, music, and food. The primary vision is to strengthen cultural pride, awareness, and knowledge of Hispanic Latin Americans and culture on Anderson University’s campus. HLSA welcomes all persons from any cultural background to join us as we learn and grow together. For more information, please contact us at HLSA@anderson.edu.
International Student Association
The International Student Association (ISA) is composed of both international and domestic students from over 25 different countries. Our students originate from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. It is the desire of this club to contribute to each student’s growth and learning through the exploration of the stories that connect our community to the broader global society. ISA invites you to gather with us while we share and enjoy culture, dance, music, and food. For more information, please contact us at isa@anderson.edu.
