Office of Work Life Engagement
Employee Benefits
The Office of Work Life engagement strives to shape the employee culture and community for the betterment of employees at Anderson University.
We assist with the development, involvement, selection, and retention of university employees, to foster employee satisfaction and cultivate the university as an outstanding place to work.
Campus Culture
and community at AU.
From an operations perspective, we hope to provide employee engagement through benefits, training, and resources to support an effective workforce across the various departments and functions of the university.
Healthcare
Anderson University offers a comprehensive benefits program that provides flexibility and choice to meet the unique needs of our employees. Additionally, employees (and their families) that are enrolled in a university healthcare plan have access to the university’s on-campus Health Services. Employees that utilize Health Services can eliminate some out-of-pocket healthcare costs for you or your family and enjoy convenient access to healthcare at their workplace.
Remitted Tuition
Becoming a Raven has major perks. Working in higher education oftentimes means that you get a discount on tuition for yourself. At Anderson University, we have an extensive and generous remitted tuition policy that covers yourself, your spouse, and your dependents up to the age of 24. This is a benefit that can support your family’s education goals for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. If you would like to learn more about how to apply for this benefit, please contact the work life engagement team. Our policy can also be found in your Paycom portal.
35-hour work week
Starting June 2022, Anderson University began piloting a 35-hour work week as an intentional effort to provide employees time and space for self-care and flexibility. By closing administrative offices at 4 p.m., employees can begin their transition to their home life earlier, gain access to other services before 5 p.m. when other businesses often close, and have time to engage in hobbies or personal pursuits without losing income.
Paid Holidays
Are you ready to enjoy more of your holidays? AU competitively offers around 14-16 per year, depending on how holidays land on business days from year to year. This means employees are able to engage more frequently with loved ones, in their hobbies, and in restorative time away from work, which we believe is an important part of work life balance.

Wellness Incentive
Employees and eligible dependents have access to our Kardatzke Wellness Center as part of Anderson University’s ongoing mission to foster the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit. The Kardatzke Wellness Center offers opportunities for personal fitness in the weight room, swimming pool, and walking track. In addition, the university offers a beautiful campus for outdoor and walking meetings when weather and the responsibilities of work permit it.
On-going Training
As an institution of higher learning, it is no secret that we are committed to being a community of learners. Whether you are exploring a new subject matter, software, or taking a refresher course, we encourage employees and supervisors to make training a priority. Employees can participate in a professional development series called R2R (Raven to Raven), led by experts from within the campus. Staff will get release time to participate in at least 4 out of 6 sessions each semester.
$2 Friday Lunches
Join your coworkers at The Marketplace eatery on Fridays during the school year for a full buffet lunch made available to you at the low cost of just $2. This is an employee appreciation initiative to help elevate your employee experience.
Community
Employees have a unique opportunity to enjoy entertainment on campus. Using your employee ID you can gain free tickets for athletic events, performance events, guest lecture series, and more. We encourage participation in campus traditions and institutional events such as Chapel, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Homecoming, Commencement, Candles & Carols, and more.
We also invite you to find an opportunity to volunteer annually on campus. Share your pride in being a Raven through volunteer opportunities such as graduation, campus beautification days, move-in days, student social club sponsors, student research, and more.
