AU Looks Toward a Bright Future through its Called to Soar Initiative

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University has officially entered the public phase of its $20 million fundraising initiative, Called to Soar. This focused fundraising initiative is centered around creating an outstanding student experience for current and future Ravens, through the generosity of our alumni and donors — a powerhouse of 30,000+ individuals spread across the globe. The ultimate goal is to send graduates out into the world who embody the university’s core values of responsibility, generosity, servant leadership, integrity, and excellence.

The focused fundraising initiative has already raised $12.5 million to ignite three major visions: scholarships, academic excellence, and campus renewal. Donors who choose to give to the AU student fund (or to several other scholarship funds that are currently offered) can help students overcome financial barriers and relieve any financial burden that could hinder their college experience.

Academic excellence is centered around providing more experiential learning opportunities in five targeted programs: business, cybersecurity, education, engineering, and nursing. AU aims to enhance these distinctive academic programs with a variety of new resources to continue offering students hands-on, real-life experiences before officially stepping into their career field. Campus renewal allows AU to strengthen and upgrade student-beloved spaces centered around conversation, study, and recreation for generations of Ravens to come.

“Even during the pandemic, our supporters have continued their generous giving in ways that make a difference in the lives of our students,” said Anderson University Vice President for Advancement Jen Hunt. “By funding scholarships, academic programs, and campus renewal projects, anyone can join us in making AU an accessible, valuable, and meaningful experience for even more Ravens who are Called to Soar. We are grateful for those who have given, and look forward to more partnership opportunities to come.”

“I am pleased to announce this Focused Fundraising Initiative, which has already inspired many friends of AU to give generously,” said Anderson University President John S. Pistole. “Our mission is to train and equip students to make a difference in the world using their God-given talents and abilities, nurtured and empowered by our outstanding faculty and staff. Every dollar given will further this Kingdom work ‘for such a time as this.’”

Anderson University is on a mission to educate students for lives of faith and service, offering more than 60 undergraduate majors, 30 three-year degrees, 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports, alongside adult and graduate programs.
