data science Degree
School of Science & Engineering
Data science students on Anderson University’s campus learn to analyze and interpret the meaning of all kinds of data, and use that data to strengthen a company’s strategies for customer engagement, product delivery, organizational outcomes, and more.
A strong pathway for students considering a career that incorporates technology and computer science, the data science major gives students a purpose, a mission, and the flexibility to creatively apply the interpretation of data to any career path. Not only do graduates possess strong technical skills, but they step into any field empowered with the ability to understand and translate the science of data, putting them in high demand by employers.
Housed within AU’s School of Science and Engineering, the data science major teaches students how to analyze, interpret, and apply data to improve the output of organizations.
An integration of communication, science, and technology, data science students will receive hands-on training opportunities alongside AU engineering majors in our Cybersecurity Engineering Laboratory. Known as the “CEL,” this lab serves as a computing playground for our science and engineering students. Data science majors will also have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to all kinds of industries through internships with various companies.
Students studying data science must choose an accompanying minor or double major. This bolsters the degree by providing students a strong concentration in an additional area of interest, such as science, history, business, marketing, athletics, etc.
