Experience the heart of Europe as you travel to three incredible cities: Prague, Czech Republic,  Vienna, Austria, and a day trip to Bratislava, Slovakia! Discover the medieval history of castles including the largest castle in the world, visit the concert hall of Beethoven, explore the world’s oldest zoo, eat some incredible food while strolling through picturesque town squares, and so much more!

Sample Itinerary

  • March 8: Team departs U.S.
  • March 9: Arrive in Prague, Walking Tour, Prague Castle, River Cruise
  • March 10: Prague Astronomical Clock, Old Town Bridge Tower, Charles Bridge
  • March 11: Prague Vyšehrad Fort, Free Evening
  • March 12: Transfer to Vienna, Vienna Zoo
  • March 13: Schönbrunn Palace, Classical Concert in St. Stephen’s Cathedral
  • March 14: Bratislava Day Trip, Free Evening
  • March 15: Hofburg Imperial Palace, Beethoven Museum
  • March 16: Team returns to the U.S. 

Cost

$2,760 plus airfare (estimated at $1,200) =~$3,960

Cost includes round-trip airfare from Chicago or Indianapolis, all meals, lodging, transportation in-country, orientation, group activities, travel insurance, and program tips. The exact airfare amount will be available upon booking with the airline.

Potential expenses not included in the cost may be a passport, visa, immunizations and vaccinations, departure tax, baggage fees, transportation to and from the departure city, trip cancellation insurance, some meals, and personal expenses.

Want to take your program for course credit?

This trip can be taken for course credit, COMM 3050 Global Communication. This is a hybrid liberal arts Global Ways of Knowing course with no prerequisites. It is your responsibility to sign up for this course with your advisor for spring semester.  If you have specific questions about the course, please contact Dr. Stefanie Leiter, skleiter@anderson.edu.

If you take the trip for credit, you can use financial aid to cover the cost of the trip. Your student account will be charged for the cost of the trip with the course in the spring. You will make payments as you normally would for spring tuition. If you have questions about potential financial aid available to you, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship at findaid@anderson.edu.

Important Dates

  • October 1 (EXTENDED DEADLINE-December 1):
    • Application
    • Copy of your passport or birth certificate
    • $2,760 due (no credit)
  • November 7: First group meeting
  • January 15: Airfare due (or remaining balance – no credit)

Cancellation Policy

  • 61 days or more prior to the start date of trip — Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through the airline).
  • 30-60 days prior to the start date of trip — Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as loss of any non-refundable excursions, any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through the airline), and 25% of per person total cost.
  • 15-30 days prior to the start date of trip — Deposit of $300 per person is non-refundable as well as loss of any non-refundable excursions, any flights booked for travelers (a credit per traveler may be issued through the airline), and 50% of per person total cost.
  • 0-15 days prior to the start date of the trip — No refund will be given.
