Ivis Eldon

Ivis N. (Foster) Eldon ’57 passed away Dec. 15, 2020, at Rawlins House in Pendleton, Indiana, after an extended illness.

She was born May 12, 1934, in Cohasset, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur Christopher and Ottis Iva (Goodell) Foster. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business at Anderson College (Anderson University). She worked at the social security office for 17 years and then the Post Office from 1979 to 1990 as a clerk and carrier. She was a volunteer at Operation Love.

Ivis was active in the East Side Church of God. She loved doing missionary work for the Church of God and traveled to all 50 states and to India, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and the Holy Land. She also enjoyed puzzles and gardening.

She is survived by seven of her children, Linda Eldon, Karen (Robert) Witham, Kristine (Robert) Davidson, Pamela (Gary) Ripberger, Deborah (Joel Gomez) Hill, William (Andrea) Eldon, and Rachel (Jason) Martindale; her daughter-in-law, Sue Eldon; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Eldon; three brothers, Alvin Foster, Stanley Foster, and Vernon Foster; her son, Timothy Eldon; and a granddaughter, Natalie Martindale.
