When you come to college, there’s a LOT of new lingo you have to learn. To help you out, we put together a quick cheat sheet of some of our most commonly-used words/phrases (you can thank us later).

  • “The MP(The Marketplace) – Our main dining space on campus in Olt Student Center
  • “BOD” – (Bottom of Decker) – The bottom of Decker Hall that houses Create, ail services, the Business Office, ITS, and more)
  • “The K-Dub or KWC” – (The Kardatzke Wellness Center) – Our state-of-the-art wellness facility that includes our fieldhouse, basketball courts, natatorium, and more!
  • “PJP”(President John Pistole) – Our President. Also known as the G.O.A.T.
  • “Mocha’s” (Shorthand for Mocha Joes) – The best coffee shop in Indiana (we’re not biased or anything)
  • “Smartin” – The area surrounding Smith and Martin Residence Halls
  • “The Alley” – The space next to Mocha Joe’s that has a pool table, ping pong, carpetball, and even a small stage for live shows and events
  • “CAB/Cabbie” (Campus Activities Board) – The group/students that plan some of the best events on campus
  • “IMs” (Intramurals) AU IM’s offer 16 unique sports and four tournaments throughout the year for all skill levels.
  • “The Conspiracy” – A flock of Ravens… and also our incredible student section.
  • “The SEO” (Student Engagement Office) – The office that houses CAB, IMs, clubs/orgs, and the Conspiracy!
  • “The Haven” – The lower level of the Olt Student Center. You’ll find the bookstore, Chick-Fil-A, and more.
  • “The MoHo” (The Morrison House) – The place where you’ll find counseling services and spiritual life. It’s the lovely white house in front of Morrison and Myers Hall.

Now you’re ready to take on the campus. You got this!

God Bless, Go Ravens!
