MLK Day

Each year, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, AU suspends classes so that all students, faculty, staff, and the greater Anderson community are able to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We use this time to renew our commitment to the ongoing work of social justice and racial equity. Our annual celebration kicks off with The Gathering and is followed by citywide and campuswide events.

Monday, January 20, 2025
10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: The Gathering (Reardon Lobby)
11:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m.: Shuttle students from Reardon Auditorium to the Paramount Theatre in downtown Anderson.
12 p.m.-1:30 p.m.: Anderson Citywide MLK Day Celebration (Paramount Theatre)
1:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m.: Shuttle students from the Paramount Theatre to Reardon Auditorium
1:45pm-2:30pm: Lunch/MLK Day Reflections & Action Steps (Reardon Lobby)
