Jerome T. Henning, “Jerry”, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Morrison Woods.

He was born on May 20, 1939 in Indianapolis the oldest of four children to Marion Eleanor Taylor and Arthur Brandt Henning, and graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1957. Jerry later graduated from Anderson College with a bachelor’s degree.

He was employed by Arthur B. Henning and Associates Inc. as vice-president for thirty-three years, Maxon Corporation for ten years and Smitties for eight years. Jerry retired in 2002. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Muncie Sailing Club, and worked with John Peterson Pottery.

Jerry met Joene E. Wagner in 1958 and they were married on April 25, 1965. Together, they enjoyed almost fifty-three years of happiness. Jerry enjoyed traveling overseas to countries such as Italy, France, China, Holland, Russia, Turkey, England, and many more. Music, fine dining, and shopping were also pleasures he enjoyed. Planting spring and summer flowers were always a special joy for him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty J. Garringer-Henning; sister, Jan E. Green (Bill) of Des Moines, IA.; cousins, William Taylor and Alan Taylor of Logansport, Brandt Henning of Naples, Florida and Jane Stevens of Pennsylvania; also surviving are a host of special friends including, Rich and Becky Warble of Maryland and Dian Studebaker of Muncie; along with several nieces and nephews.
