AU Senior Design Exhibition Opens April 21

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University seniors in the visual communication design major will put their work on display in a new gallery entitled “Interaction.” The gallery will open with a special event in the Wilson Gallery Friday, April 21 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

“At the beginning of each year our visual communication seniors are tasked with finding some problem that can be, or start to be, solved using design,” said Jason Higgs, associate professor of visual communication. “The scope of the identified ‘problems’ can be personal to worldly and often multi-tiered. The seniors work their whole first semester on researching their chosen problem and isolating the best solutions to start their design process. During their second semester they create and edit their way to the senior exhibit.”

Three individual presentations will be featured – all surrounding the goal of designing outreach to support and guide our community. Senior talks will begin at 4 p.m. and each senior will explain their project, while giving an insight into how they developed their ideas. The show will be displayed until May 5 for casual viewing throughout the day.

Guests wishing to attend the opening night event should arrive at the Wilson Gallery in the Krannert Fine Arts building between 3 and 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, with allergy sensitive options available.
