AU’s May, Nguyen Earn Engineering Grant

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University engineering graduates Cam May and Nguyen Nguyen recently earned the Indiana Engineering Grant for Out-of-State Graduates. The pair graduated in the class of 2023. The grant is administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI).

“We are excited to attract and retain top engineering talent in Indiana as supported by this grant,” said Dr. Ben McPheron, chair of physical sciences and engineering. “We are grateful for the support from the IEDC and ICI to start students out strong in their careers.”

The Indiana Engineering Grant for Out-of-State Graduates is designed to encourage engineers to become qualified leaders in their sectors in Indiana. The $7,000 grant is awarded to the recipients following the completion of six months of full-time employment in an engineering related field within the state of Indiana.

It’s part of a larger initiative to sustainably distribute $3 million in grant funding to graduates of engineering programs and nursing students at 29 public and private institutions in Indiana.

Both May and Nguyen graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.

Anderson University was established in 1917 in Anderson, Indiana, by the Church of God.
