Anderson, Ind. — Dr. Leanne Ketcham, assistant professor of preaching and practical theology at Anderson University, has been chosen as one of only 14 professors to participate in the 2023 Hybrid Teaching and Learning Workshop for Early Career Theological Faculty run by the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion located in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

“The Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion is a high quality program that helps our new faculty learn the best skills and approaches to teaching,” said Dr. Nathan Willowby, dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministry. “Dr. Ketcham will also gain a cohort of peer colleagues from whom she will learn while she will also share her own unique and gifted perspective to them.”

This workshop gathers junior faculty for six virtual sessions and a weeklong summer intensive consisting of plenary sessions, small group discussions, social time, and time for personal and communal growth.

“I’ve heard from many past Wabash participants that they leave these experiences with renewed energy and new ideas to incorporate into the classroom, and we expect that to positively influence AU students in Dr. Ketcham’s future courses,” said Willowby.

The program’s purpose is to support the teaching and development of early career faculty. The focus of the workshop is exploring how theological faculty can embody the fullness of their lives and vocations, cultivating pedagogy and personhood that are shaped by wholeness. The workshop will encourage storytelling, co-teaching and learning, and creative exercises, towards building a networked community.
