Anderson University resumes LAUNCH and STEM programs

Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University has announced that it is resuming its dual credit LAUNCH and Early STEM programs, now including early business, early education, and early nursing.

The LAUNCH program allows qualifying high school juniors and seniors to take introductory courses on AU’s campus and earn college credit prior to high school graduation. Students must hold a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and may take up to six credit hours each semester, but may not exceed a total of 12 credit hours during the program.

The Early STEM program allows qualifying high school juniors and seniors — both from traditional schools and homeschool alternatives — to earn college credit prior to high school graduation by enrolling in first-year engineering, chemistry, physics, or mathematics courses on AU’s campus.

”We felt it was important to bring these programs back because many families were struggling last year to find the classes they needed for their high school students,” said Paula Blount, visit team manager in AU’s Office of Admissions. “Many homeschool families and smaller schools rely on AU to have classes they may not be able to offer.”

“The LAUNCH and Early STEM courses are a wonderful way for high school students to take some college courses at a reduced cost so they can experience the outstanding learning experience that is Anderson University,” said Chad Wallace, dean of the School of Science and Engineering. “Many students have taken advantage of these programs and have used them to then attend AU and earn their college degree in three years.”
