When Anderson University says, “Jesus. You. Anderson.”, what exactly do we mean? It’s more than a catchy saying. To us, and perhaps you too, it’s a constant reminder of Jesus’ divine power, love for us, and provision on this campus.
At Anderson University, we believe in the transformative power of education and the life-changing potential of an encounter with Jesus. Our students are not just recipients of knowledge, they are also on a journey of spiritual growth. This unique combination has the power to change lives, as we’ve seen in the inspiring story of Samuel Cho.
Samuel is a senior chemistry major from Suwon, South Korea. Thanks in part to scholarships and intentional relationships with faculty, staff, and friends of AU, Samuel was able to attend Anderson. He’s since made the most of his time here through Tri-S trips, the Center for Public Service, and more.
“The university and God have provided me with way more than I ever could have asked for,” said Samuel. “The professors are so loving and care deeply for me. To look back on that as a senior is awesome.”
The son of missionaries, he’s lived in multiple countries throughout his life and credits his parents for much of his faith journey. He encountered Jesus long before he set foot on AU’s campus, but now strives to help his peers have their own encounter through his current work in campus ministries and previously as a residence hall discipleship coordinator.
“The faith that my parents have always lived out has inspired me to live out my faith as well,” said Samuel. “That’s been such a blessing to me and it has shaped my time at AU and my future decisions.”
Samuel intends to enter the medical missions field to “spread the truly lifesaving news of the gospel by selflessly serving others through stewardship and wise use of God’s blessings.”
An encounter with Jesus. A realization of self. An Anderson education. Samuel’s story is “Jesus. You. Anderson.” lived out. And he’s not the only one. Hundreds of students are impacted the same way Samuel has been each year. It’s led AU students to the ends of the earth, making a difference in countless lives.
