Anderson, Ind. — Anderson University will hold its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend celebration October 11-12. The event will feature a Friday night of worship with Brandon Schmidt ’09 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 10:07, and long standing traditions such as the Street Fair and Luminaries.

“October at AU means orange mums and a bubbling street fair on University Blvd, luminaries in the Valley, heralded Ravens recognized for outstanding service in the church and society, and alumni, families, and the greater Madison County community descending upon campus for the thrills and delight that Homecoming and Family Weekend evokes each fall,” said Trent Palmer, director of alumni relations. “Athletic contests, art galleries, campus landmark tours, musicals, and concerts among so many other programs and events will abound to participate in and enjoy for all ages. I love this weekend so very much.”

10:07, a student-led weekly worship service, began 25 years ago. To commemorate the anniversary, guests are invited to an evening of worship from 9 to 10:07 p.m. Friday night in the Reardon Auditorium lobby.

Events that alumni know and love, such as the Street Fair, Luminaries, Cheap Thrills, and Encore are back, along with the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will host its Homecoming concert Friday night, along with performances of its fall musical, Murder on the Orient Express, Saturday and Sunday.

AU athletics will be in full force as well, with football, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer hosting home contests Saturday. In addition, the newest class of the Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducted at 11 a.m. Saturday.
