Anderson University men’s basketball Tate Ivanyo has received numerous national accolades after closing out his storied career. Ivanyo was named the 2025 Jostens Trophy winner and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American of the Year.
Ivanyo also garnered National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First-Team All-American honors. The senior from Valparaiso was tabbed the NABC District 8 Player of the Year. Ivanyo became a consensus all-American by being named a D3hoops.com Fifth-Team All-American. This is the second year Ivanyo has earned NABC All-American honors and the first year he has received D3hoops.com All-American recognition.
The Jostens Trophy honors – one for men’s basketball and one for women’s basketball – are national awards created by the Rotary Club of Salem and sponsored by Jostens, Inc., to recognize the most outstanding men’s and women’s Division III basketball players of the year. The awards focus on three major criteria: basketball ability, academic prowess, and service to one’s surrounding communities. The Jostens Trophy models the Rotary International motto of “Service Above Self” by recognizing those who truly fit the ideal of a well-rounded Division III student-athlete.
The CSC Academic All-American award celebrates the student-athlete in NCAA D-III men’s basketball who best represents an elite combination of athletic excellence and academic excellence.
“It’s an honor to be named the CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year,” Ivanyo said. “It’s been a process starting with my freshman year. My professors have poured into me on the academic side; I’ve met with multiple professors on a weekly basis for the past three years. They’ve really poured into my life, not just with academics but with life outside of school as well. I think that’s a testament to the academic side. With the basketball side, my teammates and coaches have also poured into me. They have helped push me to believe in who I am as a player and as a person.”
Ivanyo was selected to the NABC NCAA D-III All-Star Game, which features 20 of the most prominent men’s basketball seniors in NCAA D-III. He was also a consensus all-region selection for the third time in his career as well as being a consensus first-team all-region selection for the second time in his career.
