God is moving on AU’s campus! AU Movement is a group of students from all over the world, united in their love for Christ and hope for the Church. The band leads worship in chapels, local churches, worship nights, and youth retreats. Original songs are being written for the AU campus community and the greater Church. Our Story
Woven deep into the history and DNA of Anderson University are songwriters and worship leaders who have come from this place and shaped worship as we know it. From the prophetic songs of the Gaithers to the sounds of Sandi Patty, to the lyrics of Krissy Nordoff, Sidewalk Prophets, and Jay Rouse, there is a rich tradition of worship from AU alums.
In the winter of 2024, a group of students and staff at Anderson University met together to talk about writing worship songs. God had brought together a unique group of students from all over the world who were anointed worship leaders and passionate about writing songs for the Church. It felt like confirmation when several different people from different areas of campus all had the same vision and calling. It was palpable in the room that night – God was moving on this campus!
Since that time, a group of students have met regularly to pray and write songs for our community. AU Movement was formed as we responded to how the Spirit was moving, and soon started getting requests to lead worship at churches and retreats.
Worship goes beyond a song, beyond a platform. It’s how we live our everyday lives: humbly, faithfully, and rooted in love of God and neighbor.
AU Movement is a group of Anderson University students and alumni in four branches: the band, the songwriting team, the recording team, the prayer team. The band leads in chapel services, local churches, and retreats. The songwriting team meets regularly to write worship songs for our community. We are partnered with Oranghaus, the Anderson University record label, to record original worship songs. The prayer team covers the processes in prayer, while sharing where they sense the Spirit moving in our midst.
