Description:

Travelers will participate in pop-up clinics, medical workshops in underserved communities, and visits to local healthcare facilities, gaining hands-on exposure to patient care and public health in urban and rural settings.

Beyond the clinical work, students will explore Thailand’s rich culture visiting historic temples, cruising the Mae Ping River, strolling through vibrant markets, and connecting with nature at an elephant sanctuary, offering a powerful balance of education and cultural discovery.

Students earn 4 credits in NURS 4590 Intercultural Capstone to immerse themselves in a culture other than their own through an intercultural experience. By taking the trip for-credit, students have the option to use financial aid. Offered spring 2027.

April 3-4: Travel Days
April 5: Team Arrives in Bangkok, Orientation, Grand Palace, Wat Pho
April 6: Local Clinic Visits, Floating Market
April 7: Church Service, Medical Workshop in the Slums
April 8: Day Trip to Ayutthaya Historical Park
April 9: Transfer to Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat
April 10: Pop-up Clinic with Hill Tribe
April 11: Pop-Up Clinic with At-Risk Communities, Boat Ride on Mae Ping River
April 12: Elderly Home Visits
April 13: Day at Elephant Poopoo Paper Park, Elephant Sanctuary
April 14: Church Service, Shopping at Sunday Walking Street
April 15: Team Departs Chiang Mai for U.S.

Payment Schedule – FAQs

Before submitting your Tri-S application, please review the payment schedule for credit and non-credit travel. All students who submit the Tri-S application are required to pay a $400 non-refundable deposit, regardless of credit or non-credit status.
