Dean Branson, Dean of Students, Student Leadership

Mr. Dean Branson is the Dean of Students at Anderson University and ahead of student leadership. As an Dean, Dean is on the leadership team in the department of Student life and supervises the departments of Student Leadership and Career Development. As the director of the first year experience program he coordinates, SOAR, New Student Orientation, the first year seminar course and the faculty and peer mentor programs.

Dean earned a bachelor’s degree in Church Ministries from Warner University and the Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has completed course work for a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Administrative Foundations at Indiana State University. He is currently working on his dissertation in the area of identity development.

Dean began his career as a Resident Director and Assistant Director of Career Development.  In his 13 years of experience in higher education he has worked in residence life, judicial affairs, career development, student activities and first year experience programs.  He has also taught as an adjunct instructor in Biblical Studies. 

Dean lives out his calling to full time ministry in his daily interactions with college students. Helping a student mature into the young man and woman God has designed them to be is Dean’s passion.

Dean lives in Anderson with his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Emily and Zachary.

Dean has served at Anderson University since 2003.
