He loved music of all kinds, and he loved to be involved in all the moments of student activity. We are all deeply saddened that such a promising young man would pass from us, but we celebrate all we have come to know about him and hold his family, classmates, roommates, teammates, and his many friends in our love and prayers."

“Xavier was loved in many diverse circles including the football team, the Art Department where he majored, and Myers Hall where he lived,” said Dr. Brent Baker, vice president for student affairs at Anderson University. “We are certainly joining friends and family who are mourning his loss.”

Walton graduated from Thea Bowman Leadership Academy in Gary, Ind. He was a member of the Anderson University football team playing as a defensive lineman. He lettered in football as a freshman in 2011.
