Nursing Class of 2015 serves in Belize

The Anderson University Nursing Class of 2015 spent two weeks serving in Belize to gain medical experience and cultural competence.

Cultural competence and service are key concepts emphasized by the faculty in Anderson University’s School of Nursing. As a practical means of experiencing these concepts, nursing majors are required to participate in a medical mission trip.

The Class of 2015 spent almost two weeks serving in Belize. Not only was this trip a highlight of their college experience and education, but it will also benefit their future careers.

King’s Men Quartet reunites and reflects on lifelong experiences and friendships

The King’s Men Quartet reunited for a 57th reunion in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Anderson University King’s Men Quartet, a group of students that traveled the country singing for congregations, represented Anderson College to thousands of people during 1957 and 1958. Recently, the quartet reunited for their 57th year reunion in Colorado Springs to reminisce on their college days, share stories, pray, sing, and worship. At the reunion, the group sang in two churches and created more memories together in the Rocky Mountains.

Anderson University’s intramural (IM) program offers 16 diverse sports that provide students, faculty and staff an opportunity for physical activity, relationship building, competition and involvement in the AU community. Recently, BestColleges.com added AU’s IMs to its top 25 list of intramural programs in the nation.

Anderson University biology class visits Field Museum in Chicago

Anderson University’s Dr. Dan Ippolito took his ecology and evolution class to the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum in Chicago. A total of 10 students traveled overnight to see the exhibits that emphasize the environment and fresh water fish.

Ippolito, a biology professor of 26 years, led the group and considers the exhibits a chance to show his students what they study in his class.

“Both are remarkable places where you can see some remarkable things,” he said.

Anderson University Board of Trustees member, the Honorable Dennis D. Carroll, is retiring as judge of Madison Circuit Court Division 6 after 35 years of distinguished service. On Thursday, June 18, a come-and-go reception will be held in the Reardon Auditorium Lobby from 4 – 6 p.m. with brief moments of recognition at approximately 5 p.m.
