AU president honored for service

For 25 years, Anderson University president James Edwards has devoted himself to serving AU and fostering partnerships within the community.

“We care about the garden in which we were planted,” he told a crowd of about 250 on Saturday.

Edwards and his wife, Deanna, were recognized by both the university and the City of Anderson with the 2014 William P. Riethmiller Community Partnership Award.

Three of Anderson University’s 2013 communication arts graduates, Kimberly (Werline) Gerhart, Eva McKnight, and Charlie Holcomb, received positions in the public relations and marketing field soon after graduation. They join other AU alumni in the Indianapolis market, using their AU experiences to make a mark on their chosen fields.

The IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum is giving space and science enthusiasts the opportunity of a lifetime. On Thursday, November 20 at 6:45 p.m., attendees can experience INTERSTELLAR, Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster space thriller, on the IMAX screen and participate in a discussion/Q&A with Astrophysicist Dr. John Millis after the film.

The Anderson University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will present the annual “Candles and Carols” Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium on the campus of Anderson University. Celebrating the 50th performance, the annual “Candles and Carols” Christmas program revives many memories for those who attend each year.

AU invites community to partner for Operation Christmas Child

Anderson University will come together this Christmas season to collect filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child at Reardon Auditorium on November 12-19.

Operation Christmas Child began in 1993 and according to their website, has become the world’s largest Christmas program. The Samaritan’s Purse project utilizes over 100,000 volunteers each year to help present gift-filled shoeboxes to the needy.
