Anderson University alumna and renowned award-winning Christian recording artist Sandi Patty will sing the national anthem before the 97th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26. This will mark the sixth time Patty has sung “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Indianapolis 500, more than any other individual performer.
As news stations around the country have carried reports of the devastating EF5 (having winds in excess of 200 miles per hour) tornado that swept through Newcastle and Moore, Oklahoma, Church of God Ministries has been in contact with local and state pastors in the area.

Salisbury scored a 2-0 victory Saturday in Eau Claire, Wis., knocking AU (31-18) out of the NCAA Div. III Softball Championships in the program’s debut trip to the national finals.

In early April, the Anderson University softball team was scuffling along at 1-3 in league play and thinking positive thoughts about remaining in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title race.
On Friday, the Ravens (31-16) will be one of just eight teams still alive in the NCAA Div. III national championship race.
That’s the difference some hot bats, clutch pitching, and cool attitudes will make for a ballclub.
The two victories forced a second championship game Monday at 10 a.m. The winner will advance to the NCAA Div. III World Series this weekend in Eau Claire, Wis.
Anderson University awarded more than 650 doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s and associate degrees Saturday at the university’s 95th commencement.
Faculty lined the entrance to Kardatzke Wellness Center and ushered in the graduates for the event. For the students completing months and years of coursework, the graduation was a relieving award.

Shelly Weston works daily for Anderson University. But today, she’s looking at the college in much different shoes. She’s one of the university’s 645 graduates. And she’s one of four in her family.
Shelly is the assessment, data and technology manager for the School of Education. Her daughter Erin Weston, brother Justin Price and cousin Kasi Gale are all graduating from various programs.
Gale said they’ve always been good friends but that the experience has “made us closer.”
Anderson University recently honored Dr. Fred Shively and David Neidert with John A. Morrison Awards for their commitment and service to AU. In addition, the university presented the MOSAIC Award to Dr. Stuart Erny, and the inaugural Golden Compass Award to Dr. Merle Strege. The awards were presented May 9 during the university’s annual faculty/staff recognition luncheon.
